Crenshaw is the kind of live performer who makes you remember why you fell for guitar-driven songwriting in the first place. The craft is right there on the surface: the chord changes that feel inevitable, the melodies that stick before the song is over, the voice that hasn't lost a step. Over thirteen albums and thousands of performances, he's never stopped refining what he does — and what he does is write and play songs that hold up.

Expect the classics — "Someday, Someway," "Cynical Girl," "Whenever You're On My Mind" — alongside the deeper cuts that reward the fans who've been showing up for decades. This is the rare artist whose catalog gets better the more you know it, and a live set at City Winery is one of the better ways to find that out. The room is the right size.
