The Royal Scam "A Steely Dan Tribute"
City Winery Philadelphia Presents The Royal Scam "A Steely Dan Tribute" on January 14th at 7:30pm.
The Royal Scam, led by arranger and composer Gino Amato is comprised of New York’s most accomplished session musicians.
Royal Scam brings the unmistakable sound of Steely Dan to life with a level of precision, soul, and musicianship that honors one of the most sophisticated catalogs in rock history. Since forming in New York, the band has built a reputation for delivering performances that are both technically masterful and irresistibly fun—capturing the spirit, the groove, and the sly wit that made Steely Dan iconic.
Steely Dan’s music demands excellence, and Royal Scam embraces that challenge with a lineup of seasoned players who share a deep respect for the material. Every show is a celebration of the band’s rich musical legacy: the jazz‑infused harmonies, the tight horn arrangements, the lush backing vocals, and the unmistakable vibe that defined an era.
From fan favorites like “Reelin’ in the Years” and “Peg” to deep cuts cherished by die‑hard Dan devotees, Royal Scam delivers a dynamic, immersive experience that resonates with longtime fans and new listeners alike. Whether on a festival stage, in a theater, or at a packed club, the band’s performances are marked by authenticity, energy, and a genuine love for the music.
For audiences who crave the sophistication of Steely Dan performed live with passion and precision, Royal Scam stands as one of the premier tribute acts on the scene—dedicated to keeping the music alive, vibrant, and unforgettable.
