The Bad Plus - Farewell Tour

For more than two decades, The Bad Plus have stood as one of the most innovative and boundary pushing groups in modern jazz. Known for their fearless creativity and refusal to conform to convention, the band has built an international following with a sound that blends technical mastery, adventurous improvisation, and bold musical imagination.

Founded as a fiercely democratic unit, The Bad Plus earned widespread critical acclaim for their distinctive approach to composition and performance, constantly exploring new directions while maintaining a deep sense of musical connection. Their live performances are celebrated for their energy, spontaneity, and the thrilling interplay between world class musicians.

Now entering an exciting new chapter, founding members Reid Anderson on bass and Dave King on drums are joined by Ben Monder on guitar and Chris Speed on tenor saxophone, creating a dynamic new lineup that expands the band’s sonic possibilities. Together, they continue their mission of bridging genres and pushing the limits of collaborative improvisation.

The Bad Plus has been a band for 26 years. That’s quite a long time! As we enter into year 27 - after a great deal of soul searching and consideration - we have decided to bring this chapter to a close. 2026 will be the final year of The Bad Plus. We share this news with heavy hearts, but also with great pride in what we have accomplished. It has been a privilege to share our music with the world and we leave behind a body of work that we could not be more proud of.

We look forward to performing our final shows throughout the coming year and hope to see as many of you as possible. This band changed our lives. Thank you all for being a part of that.
