These abilities have made her a sought-after presence in both sacred and artistic spaces. Tamika first captured national attention with her debut album Number #1, released on Capitol/EMI/Orpheus Records; immediately earning recognition for her unique vocal style and versatility. Her style is luxe with a gospel base, sprinkles of jazz, pop and contemporary R&B. Since then, she has graced numerous prestigious media platforms. Her commitment to music, ministry and excellence was recently recognized with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award and an honorary degree, Doctorate of Philosophy in Musicology, from the Trinity International University of Ambassadors, both honors that reflect her enduring impact.
