City Winery Boston presents Kofi B live on November 3rd at 7:30pm.
He is a 3x Emmy nominated pianist, producer, and actor who won Amateur Night at the Apollo and then made history as the first winner ever asked to host the show, a seat once held by Steve Harvey and Mo'Nique. At 26, Kofi B. has already built the kind of resume most artists spend a career chasing, and he brings all of it to the piano live at City Winery Boston.
Known online as "The Other Kid From Akron," Kofi blends virtuosic playing with storytelling that has captivated millions of followers and landed him on The Tamron Hall Show. His sound carries the influence of the icons he has shared stages and studios with, including Charlie Wilson, Will Downing, Musiq Soulchild, the Ohio Players, and Montell Jordan. Audiences who caught I Wanna Dance With Somebody watched him bring that same touch to the screen, portraying Whitney Houston's pianist alongside musical direction from Rickey Minor.
His path started young, earning a Silver medal at the NAACP ACT-SO National Competition, the same stage that once introduced the world to Lauryn Hill and Jennifer Hudson. Since then, he has built BlaBoak Ventures into a media company behind his own Emmy nominated work and was recently named Ambassador of Engagement for the Kennedy Center's 47th Honors.
