Born and raised in Baltimore, Kleon grew up in a project building facing a rough upbringing with a large family embedded in the streets. Faced with a choice at age 18 between street life and comedy, he chose comedy as his hustle. He realized his talent for making people laugh at age 10 and cemented his path at 19 by winning a local comedy competition against seasoned comedians.Career and StyleKleon has spent over 20 years in comedy, building a massive, highly-engaged digital audience with hundreds of thousands of followers across Kleon The Comedian Facebook and Kleon The Comedian Instagram.Stand-up: His sets are unscripted and conversational, drawn directly from his real-life experiences. Because of his highly relatable takes on men and women, his audience is primarily women, making up the bulk of his material.Touring: He regularly sells out major clubs and theaters nationwide, having performed in over 29 cities at notable venues like Atlanta's Fox Theatre and the Met Theater in Philadelphia.Filmmaking: Beyond stand-up, Kleon is an independent filmmaker, director, and self-taught editor. He won the Warner Brothers Short Film Contest for Standing in the Mountains and produced the independent feature film Bluffin.
