Kim Fields is an actress with an eminent household name, starring in three long-running series: NBC’s ""The Facts of Life"", ""Living Single” on Fox and “The Upshaws”, the Number One Comedy on Netflix. These hit shows are in worldwide syndication and streaming, consistently reinforcing her place as a global, pop-culture icon. She’s starred roles in TV movies and series, as well as independent feature films over her trailblazing five decade career, including the critically acclaimed feature film, “A Question Of Faith”. Starring in “You Light Up My Christmas” for Lifetime and “Adventures in Christmasing” for MTV Entertainment has made her a staple in the holiday movie space.
She recently wrapped production on the 5th and final season of Netflix’s “The UpShaws”. In addition to starring she was a consulting producer and directed 7 episodes including the kick-off episode the past three seasons. The new batch of 12 episodes will drop (unofficially) on January 17th.
Besides “The UpShaws”, Kim has most recently directed multiple episodes of Crutch and The Neighborhood in additional to almost 180 episodes of television, including scripted drama, dramedy and comedy pilots/first episodes, longform, unscripted documentaries/docuseries and specials, including for HBO, NBC, Netflix, Fox, Paramount+, BET+ and CBS this week. Kim served as an executive producer or consulting producer on several of these.
Kim has served as an executive producer or consulting producer on several pilots and series. She has also directed and produced documentaries and other unscripted content. Recently, she directed back-to-back episodes of Tracy Morgan’s upcoming Crutch series for CBS Studios/Paramount+.
Kim has created/written, co-created/co-written several scripted drama and comedy series, longform and unscripted projects. She is also currently adapting/developing several books.
