City Winery NYC presents Kara Arena with Juliette Stewart on Monday, September 28th, at 7:00 PM!
Based out of New York City, singer-songwriter Kara Arena has a crystal clear, melodic voice that conjures other worlds- vivid, emotional, out of time or place. She brought her music to The Loft stage back in 2024 and is thrilled to be back with some new music and some old friends.
Arena's sophomore release, Whose Face Is On Your Heart, dropped in January 2026 and features singles ‘Cowboy Song’ and the narrative-led title track ‘Whose Face Is On Your Heart’. A skilled actor as well, Arena’s background on stage and screen seem to have informed the cinematic scope of her writing, rooted in rich relationships and heartfelt storytelling. “Despite her obvious acting prowess, it is her songwriting and distinctive voice that immediately grab the attention as she sings the intro to the opening track of this EP ‘Cowboy Song’ unaccompanied, her delivery emotive, yet pristine…I have to say it is one of the best songs I’ve heard all year” (Graeme Tait, Americana UK). Arena’s debut record, Something Blue, was released in December 2022 and sings themes of feminism, family, and heartbreak woven together with imagery from the world around us.
For her return to The Loft, Arena will be accompanied by Joe Cilento (guitar), Mae Roney (violin), Rachel Rice (cello), Thomas Kuklenski (percussion), and joined by special guest, Coulee Slatnick (tap dancer) bringing a full band sound to her fingerpicking folk tunes. Arena is gearing up to get back in the studio for her next record and will be sharing some new, unrecorded material at this intimate performance.

Juliette’s love of storytelling and collection of experiences and encounters has lent depth and timelessness to her lyrics, and gravity to her powerful and nuanced voice. Taking her umbrellaed Americana music across the country to well known music festivals and classic traditional American music venues as well as around the world in the United Kingdom and Europe, Juliette’s music has been described as “dramatic and “heartfelt” with “hearty vocal tones,” and “lyrics that cut deep like conversations you weren’t supposed to overhear.”
Juliette has most recently has supported Leon Majcen on tour and participated in festivals such as Tucson Folk Festival, Montauk Music Festival, Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival, Sag Harbor American Music Festival, Meadowlark Music Festival, Urban Country Jam Festival, RiverArts Music Festival, NOLA’s Cutting Edge Music Festival and at events such as Nashville/NYC’s all female round Song Suffragettes. Juliette has also toured nationally in the band of outlaw country singer Nikki Lane, opening for names like Sierra Ferrell and Chris Stapleton at festivals and venues such as the Red Rocks Amphitheater and Stagecoach Country Music Festival.
Her debut single “Shame On You,” was recorded in Nashville,TN with touring band “Chicago” and band leader Eli Beaird, ACM bass player of the year nominee, and has caught interest of industry top-liners turned collaborators such as Thom Panunzio (credits: Interscope Records, Stevie Nicks, John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen). He, alongside Juliette, produced and mixed the project in Los Angeles, CA. “Shame On You” peaked in the TOP 40 on the ""Contemporary Hits Radio"" and ""Hot Adult Contemporary"" Mediabase Charts. She has also found success on international radio shows such as Americana Highway UK on Smart Radio 101, and Welwyn Hatfield Radio. Her music is streaming in over 60 countries and has received radio play across America, and in UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada, Belgium, Netherlands, and greater Europe. In the coming months, Juliette will follow her newest single release ""In The Staying” (featuring Grammy nominated cellist Dave Eggar) with her 2026 EP of the same name, which includes first place award winning song “Callaway."
