Joshua Radin emerged in 2004 as an empathetic, engaging, and often enthralling troubadour. Over the years, he’s tallied north of 1 billion streams, moved 1 million-plus albums worldwide, and scored a gold certification for the single “I’d Rather Be With You.” His music has appeared in over 200 films, television series, and commercials. In addition to multiple showstopping appearances on Ellen (who also enlisted him to perform at her wedding) and Today Show, and performances on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, and Conan, he contributed “Brand New Day” to a commercial in support of the troops at the request of First Ladies Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden. He’s played to sold out crowds around the globe and shared the stage with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Sheryl Crow, Tori Amos and more. Not to mention, he’s a staunch philanthropist who supports Little Kids Rock and North Shore Animal League America (NSALA), among others. Thus far his catalog consists of nine full-length offerings highlighted by fan favorites such as We Were Here, Simple Times, Underwater, Wax Wings, and Here, Right Now.

Following the release of his 2021 acclaimed album The Ghost and The Wall, Joshua left his material existence in the rearview, grabbed a backpack, packed his guitar, picked up a pen and a pad, hit the road in search of new stories to tell. Those stories comprise though the world will tell me so, volumes one & two which were released early 2023. During 2025, he turns the page on the next chapter of his career and life with his tenth full-length LP and first independent album since 2017, One Day Home. Immersing himself in the process mind, body, and soul, he pored over these 13 tracks, perfecting each moment and co-producing six tracks with Wally Gagel. This time around, he prepared the music for a double-LP release with one half original studio versions of the tracklisting and the other piano vocal versions. Musically, he taps into two sides of his sonic palette, leaning into soul and singer-songwriter stylings while tracing the journey of a romantic relationship.

KATHRYN GALLAGHER has spent much of her life inhabiting other people’s stories. With ALL GOOD MEN, she finally tells her own — loudly, angrily, and without apology.

The five-track EP takes its name from a line in the song “Fugitive”: “all good men love to crown a villain ripe for the hunt.” For Gallagher, the phrase became a revelation. “This whole record is about the demise of the parts of me that are people-pleasey,” she explains, “the parts that morph into whatever shape I think is most palatable.” The title is a refusal as much as a declaration. “It’s my rebelling against the idea that I must be one of the ‘good men,’” she says. “Because the more I tried to be what I thought I was supposed to be, the less I was actually doing what was right for me.”

The story begins with lead single “Stella,” a song Gallagher calls the entry point to the entire project. Stella is both her alter ego and mirror. “This person who has finally had enough, cuts off all her hair, throws a big riot, and goes away to the woods.”

Written on a beat-up old guitar Gallagher bought years ago in Ojai. “It has glitter nail polish around the edges.” The song reframes ambition as a burden rather than a blessing. “You’re told you have all this potential and all these things you’re supposed to be,” she says. “And people are so disappointed when you’re not living up to it. But what if happiness is much simpler? What if it’s just this little garden with shorter hair?”

Across ALL GOOD MEN, Stella’s unravelling becomes a narrative arc: the moment of snapping, the aftermath, and the hard clarity that follows. While the EP captures a specific period in Gallagher’s life, she’s clear-eyed about its emotional purpose.

“It’s totally confessional,” she says. “But when I made this record, I was really loved and really taken care of in my life. And that meant I finally got to shift focus to the parts of myself that didn’t feel good.” One of the central lessons of the project, she adds, is permission. “I hope people hear it and know that it’s okay to be angry sometimes — and that you can never control anyone else’s narrative.”

Produced by acclaimed alt-pop artist Ella Vos and mixed by legendary guitarist Tommy English, ALL GOOD MEN is a sonic departure from Gallagher’s previous releases — and, paradoxically, a return to her earliest instincts. Driven by roaring guitars and live drums, the EP channels a new-generation Lilith Fair energy with the bite of Hayley Williams and the emotional directness of Sheryl Crow. “I had this realization that I was way more rock and roll at 15 than I was in my 20s,” Gallagher says. “The music I love singing is Stones, Bonnie Raitt, Dylan, Janis Joplin. That’s what I grew up on, what I play in my car, what I feel most connected to.”

For a time, Gallagher never expected to sing again. Her five-year, Tony-nominated run as Bella in the 2019 Broadway production of Jagged Little Pill, based on the music of Alanis Morissette, stretched her voice and her psyche to the limit. “I learned that the muscle of my voice was stronger than I thought,” she says, “but once we closed, I hated singing. I couldn’t do it anymore.” Performing traumatic material night after night left its mark. “I sang a song while I’m being assaulted in that show,” she says plainly. “I don’t think it takes much psychology to understand why afterward my voice started feeling weird, and why I didn’t want anything to do with singing.”

Winning a Grammy for the cast recording was similarly complicated. “It was during the pandemic, so there was no pomp and circumstance,” she recalls. “I totally felt like an imposter. I’d always imagined winning a Grammy for my own music.” The moment was both affirming and disorienting. “It felt like one of my longest held dreams came true, it also felt like I snuck through the back door. I felt like such a phony.” With time, she’s made peace with it. “I feel pretty good about it now,” she says.

The true turning point came during a month-long visit to Ireland. “I met a bunch of musicians, and when they asked if I played music, I said no,” she admits. “My best friends immediately called me out on that lie.” Singing casually in pubs rekindled her love for music. “That’s when I fell back in love with singing,” she says. “Just for fun.”

Not long after, Vos reached out, completing a decade-long circle. Gallagher had once been steered toward a sound modelled after Vos before acting opportunities briefly pulled her away from music. During that period, she achieved enormous success with roles in the Netflix series YOU, the Anna Kendrick feature film Woman of the Hour), and Pavements, the experimental musical film directed by Alex Ross Perry about the iconic indie-rock band Pavement.

This time, the collaboration unfolded organically: Vos flying to New York, recording in Gallagher’s parents’ apartment between stage performances. “It felt very full circle,” Gallagher says. “Very cozy. Very right.”

What defines ALL GOOD MEN most clearly is its agency. “None of this record comes from a victim mentality,” Gallagher says. “It’s about taking ownership of my decisions, even when they’re messy or loud or angry.” She laughs, then lands the point. “I got tired of being sad. This record is about taking the reins. Make do with what you’ve got, baby. Go be a fugitive.”
