Jesse Clegg & Msaki
City Winery Philadelphia presents Jesse Clegg & Msaki on January 29th at 7:30pm.
Jesse Clegg is a platinum-selling singer-songwriter with ten Top 10 radio singles and five South African Music Award nominations. The son of the late, iconic Johnny Clegg, Jesse has followed in his father’s footsteps through meaningful cross-cultural collaboration and globally minded songwriting. Renowned for his dynamic live performances, he has appeared on major international stages including Carnegie Hall, the Isle of Wight Festival, SXSW and Radio City Music Hall, and has toured with artists such as Imagine Dragons, Walk The Moon and Daughtry.
Msaki (Asanda Lusaseni) is a South African composer, singer, and songwriter trained in fine art, design, photography, and curation at Rhodes, Leeds, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan, and East London Technikon. A SAMA winner, she contributed as writer, composer, and artist to Black Coffee’s Grammy-winning album. Her work merges music and visual art through installation and performance, including Of Love in Protest (Nirox, 2022) and Ndiyozilanda (National Arts Festival, 2023). She was the 2022 Standard Bank Young Artist for Music and is part of this year’s South African Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. Guided by “Build as you grow, lift as you rise,” she continues to expand her practice.
🍽️ We provide food and beverage service directly to your table in the venue. Or, for an expanded menu and more relaxed experience, arrive early and enjoy a meal in our restaurant before the show. When dining in the restaurant, reservations are encouraged and can be made via Resy starting one month before the show. View Our Concert Dining Menu.(opens in a new tab)
Reserve your preferred wine by filling out this form(opens in a new tab) and have a bottle waiting at your table when you arrive at your show. No more waiting for your first drink! We will save your wine preference and have a bottle at your table for all future shows. When you want to change your wine, come back to this form and update your preference.
🎶 While we do not require a two-item food or beverage minimum, we strongly encourage it. Most ticket revenue goes directly to the artist and production costs, so food and drink purchases help support the staff, service, and atmosphere that make these intimate shows possible.
The good news: we think you’ll love the food and wine just as much as the show.
