Hugo Cruz & Caminos deliver a vibrant and contemporary celebration of Afro-Cuban music, blending the rhythms and melodies of Cuba with jazz, funk, rock, R&B, and more. Led by Cuban-born, award-winning drummer, composer, and educator Hugo Cruz, the ensemble creates an original sound that honors traditional Cuban forms while pushing them into exciting new territory.

A graduate of Cuba’s prestigious Instituto Superior de Artes, Cruz has performed around the world and earned recognition for his dynamic musicianship, including being named Best Drummer at Havana’s Festival del Tambor Guillermo Barreto in Memoriam. His group, Caminos, has appeared at notable venues and festivals including the Smithsonian Museum, Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival, Carnegie Museum, and Fábrica de Artes in Havana.

Drawing from their acclaimed recordings Punto de Partida and Figure It Out, Hugo Cruz & Caminos bring audiences an energetic and immersive live experience filled with infectious rhythms, exceptional musicianship, and the rich cultural traditions of Cuba.
