Griffin House has been earning rooms like this one for over twenty years. Not through a single breakout moment, but through the patient accumulation of craft — thirteen albums, thousands of miles of grassroots touring, and a catalog that sounds more honest every time you hear it.
His 2004 debut Lost and Found caught the attention of music critic Bill Flanagan, who named House one of the best emerging singer-songwriters of his generation. The years that followed brought tours with John Mellencamp and the Cranberries, a Late Night television appearance, and an underground hit — "The Guy That Says Goodbye to You is Out of His Mind" — that found its way into homes long before streaming made that easy. His music has placed on One Tree Hill, Rescue Me, and Everwood, and drawn thoughtful coverage from Rolling Stone, Paste, and American Songwriter.The documentary Rising Star — now on Amazon Prime — follows House through the less-sung side of the music business: the road, sobriety, fatherhood, and the particular persistence it takes to keep making work that matters.
