D'Angelo Tribute w/ The Royal Family
The Royal Family honors the life and legacy of Michael Eugene Archer, better known as “D’Angelo,” and his contributions to music and the world through a deep dive into all his albums for a night of tribute, soulful performance, and history.
The Royal Family are a group of musicians and singers from different universities across Tennessee who came together for their love of Black Music. Led by TSU graduate and musical director Link Fisher III, they will start with D’Angelo’s debut album “Brown Sugar” and travel through to his final work “Black Messiah.” Their performance will focus on each album’s themes as well as fan favorite songs.
With October 14th marking the first anniversary of the passing of this Icon, gather with us at City Winery to honor his life while enjoying his singular art and its impact.
