ConSentido Project with Mauricio Villanueva
"ConSentido" means "Playing with Sense" or playing with common sense. Mauricio tries to show himself and the multiculturalism of his music background through this title. The purpose of this show for Mauricio is to bring to his community his global baggage, while representing his Mexican roots. Fusing traditional Latin American tunes and melodies with genres like Flamenco, Afro-Cuban, funk, rumba, reggae, huapango, rap, bossa, samba, bolero and opera.
What the industry calls World Music. Mauricio's main purpose is to keep creating bridges between countries, cultures, languages and traditions through the music and its fusion. If you don’t understand the language, it’s okay because you can feel the music and you’ll have the opportunity to recognize some of the old tunes, or memories that the music might take you to. It is certain that during the performance a connection between the audience and the music will happen.
