City Winery Boston presents Conscious Reggae Band Brunch live on October 18th at 12pm.

Conscious Band is a dynamic reggae collective that fuses decades of musical camaraderie with a forward thinking approach, captivating audiences from Boston to beyond. Founded by lifelong friends Bobin Nicholson and Errol Strength whose bond spans over 40 years this four piece powerhouse embodies both tradition and innovation in reggae music.

Errol Strength is hailed as the classic reggae voice of Boston, and his rich, buttery vocals effortlessly traverse genres. Whether delivering soulful reggae or covering R&B classics by Luther Vandross, Lionel Richie, Curtis Mayfield, Michael Jackson, The Spinners, Smokey Robinson, or Stevie Wonder, Errol’s voice defies time growing more refined with each performance. A born Jamaican, his authenticity and versatility form the backbone of the band’s broad appeal.

At the forefront of the band’s creative vision is young maestro Tariq “Tynicfly” or “Unclefingers” Nicholson. A prodigious talent from a young age and the son of Bobin Nicholson, Tariq has been captivating audiences on big stages since the age of 14. His elaborate 8+ keyboard setup unleashes an expansive palette of sounds that often leave audiences in awe as they search for the acoustic inspirations behind the magic. His keyboard work convincingly imitates a wide array of instruments, including rhythm and lead guitars, bright authentic flutes, and percussion, along with evoking the soulful tones of saxophones, live horns, and classic Moog synths.

Aaron “AOKP” joined the band in 2017 while attending Berklee College of Music. Hailing from the Bahamas, his extraordinary drumming infused with influences from rock, hip hop, neo soul, fusion, and soca adds a modern edge to the ensemble. His quiet humility belies a formidable talent that enriches the band’s versatile sound.

Rounding out the group is Bobin Nicholson, the Jamaican born bassist, owner, and manager of Conscious Band. A Berklee graduate renowned for his vintage, massive bass sound, Bobin provides the authentic reggae foundation that fans cherish. Known for his fashionable style often reflecting the color of his bass guitar choices Bobin is a true performer who brings both fun energy and disciplined musicality to every show.

Beyond their musical prowess, Conscious Band boasts a storied live presence with a 16 year residency at the famed Reggae Brunch at West End Jonnie’s and a 10 year Friday night residency at the venue once known as Shenanigans in South Boston. They continue to energize audiences at popular venues such as Grace by Nia in the Seaport and The Beehive on Tremont Street, Boston. As an avid private function band, they have played for esteemed clients including the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.

Together with occasional guest artists this four piece ensemble creates a sonic tapestry as expansive as a reggae orchestra, inviting audiences of all ages and backgrounds to dance, groove, and immerse themselves in an unforgettable musical experience.
