City Winery Boston presents Britt Connors Band live on October 1st at 7:30pm.

Expect a set that slips easily between soulful ballads, pop-rock, and gospel-infused Americana, the kind of range that comes from a childhood spent absorbing folk, jazz, classical, and 80s and 90s pop all at once. Connors built her career right here, moving to Somerville after college to learn guitar and find her footing in the Boston scene, and that homegrown history shows in every note. Her longtime drummer and husband Mike Connors anchors the rhythm section, a partnership that's held steady onstage since 2008.

The set draws from four albums deep, including her latest EP Exhale, six songs that carry echoes of Bonnie Raitt, Aimee Mann, and Ray LaMontagne. She brings a stacked band of Boston mainstays for the night, guitar, bass, cello, keys, and a horn section led by trumpeter Jerry Sabatini, the same lineup that filled out every track on the record. Live, that fuller sound turns intimate songwriting into something with real lift.

It's a hometown show in every sense, seated close with a glass of wine in hand, the kind of night built for an artist who's spent years earning her place in this city's music scene.
