96 comedians. One week. $7,000 in prize money. And your chance to see the next big name in comedy before everyone else does.
The Boston Comedy Festival Comedy Competition brings 96 comedians from across the country (sometimes Canada) to Boston for
one of New England's biggest stand-up competitions.
Over eight preliminary rounds, 12 comedians take the stage at each show, all hoping to impress the judges and earn one of just 32
spots in the semifinals.
And here's the fun part: you don't know who's going to break out. Some of these comedians already have impressive credits. Others
could be the next big name you haven't heard of yet.

Demetrius “Big D” Hullum is a powerhouse Boston comedian with more than nine years on the stand-up stage. A finalist in both the
Boston Comedy Festival and Northwest Comedy Festival, Big D has also performed at the Netflix Is a Joke Festival in Los Angeles
and hosted for national headliners including Sam Jay at Boston's Wilbur Theatre.
With sharp wit, authentic storytelling and a commanding stage presence, Big D knows how to work a room—and he's coming to City
Winery to bring the laughs.
