Hailing from Austin, Texas, Schneider first made his mark as the frontman of bands like The Ugly Americans and The Scabs before launching a prolific solo career. His music defies easy categorization, blending folk, rock, rap, funk, bluegrass, reggae, and country into a signature style fans affectionately call “FRUNK.” The result is a dynamic, unpredictable live experience that showcases both his sharp songwriting and charismatic stage presence.

A powerhouse in the Austin music scene, Schneider has earned more than 59 Austin Music Awards, including honors for Best Album, Best Songwriter, Best Musician, and Best Male Vocals, making him the most decorated artist in the city’s storied music history. His national breakthrough came with the Universal Records release Lonelyland, and as the founder of Shockorama Records he continues to create and release music independently on his own terms.
